About me
Well she wants to be the queen
Then she thinks about her scene
Pulls her hair back as she screams
"I dont really wanna be the queen"

Shopping After Motherhood
July 16, 2007I get tortured everytime we pass by MANGO's billboard with the red-lettered SALE across it. Torment that instantly goes away when I think about:
1. Akia's high chair
2. saving up for Akia's booster seat
3. the nearing first birthday celebration
4. the cute little dresses at Zara Baby and that they also are in sale
5. Akia's shots
The joy of shopping has definitely been altered. While I still drool at clothes, shoes and bags, somehow other things appeal to me and concern me more now. Like how stable will this high chair be? What's the ROI on this baby furniture? Will our baby show the slightest appreciation for this thing if we buy it?
Just today, we went to the mall and as usual we dropped by my favorite me-stores. Yes. The ones that I used to go gaga at after payday. I saw a neat pair of jeans that I knew was just PURRRFECT. So I asked BT if I could try them on. Y'know, just to get rid of the "itch". I showed BT how it looked on me. And like I said, it was PURRRFECT. No alterations had to be done to it, unlike most of my purchases, because it…actually fits. It seemed like the shopping fairies connived against me to make me seriously think about buying a Php2,000 worth piece of clothing. And BT didn't help. He cheered on with the fairies — Go buy it! I said I'll just come back for it 'cause I might see something nicer and cheaper. But of course…we never did.
