Happy 1 month!
June 24, 2011I celebrate the first monthsary with my new job today. It has been very humbling. No credentials to back me up. No successful account implementations to brag about. No excellent CSAT scores to show for. Just me, myself and a piece of paper that tells everyone else that I was all of that but nothing really relevant and significant to them. I get to start from scratch. An opportunity to rewrite the would-be’s.
I’d like to think that things are looking up. I got my very first kudos (plus a piece of Starbucks cake) 2 wks after I joined. I met my boss’ boss and the meeting went well. I met my team and they’re as excited as me with the go-live of our project. And quite sincerely, I really like learning all about the shipping industry. Just this morning, Discovery showed a documentary about the company I work for. I mean, Discovery? Documentary? I’m in a good place for sure!
So cheers to the future and my career!
