Back to Basics
July 1, 2011Last Sunday, I killed my Facebook account. I haven’t deactivated by Twitter profile yet but the last time I checked it was on the same day I decided to go back to basics.
Before social media sites took over the world, I was actively updating my blog. I kept my friends and relatives abroad updated through my entries. Sometimes my articles were long, sometimes one-liners. They get to see the latest pictures I’ve taken from important events, birthday parties and even random stuff I see around. Sounds familiar, right? I came to realize that I’ve been doing FB activities long before it was born.
I’ve also unintentionally forced my friends to keep in touch with me the traditional way. I get more text messages, phone calls and chat messages. They’re not too happy that I left and until now I really couldn’t give a straight answer to their question - why?
Let’s for now just say that I’m keeping my world…simple.
